What is it?
The support manual contains 114 pages of illustrated teaching material covering
all aspects of the Tennis Skills to Music course.
This can be used as a stand alone resource but we recommend you attend a Teacher Training Course in order to see the scheme in action and to appreciate its broader vision.
Within the resource is a 5 year teaching plan for KS1 and 2; 160 skills broken into 42 teaching progressions; 30 lesson plans; a CD of specially selected musical tracks; warm-ups; cool downs; game developments; cross-curricular links; playtime activities and competitions; pupil self-assessment; monitoring and evaluation guide-line for teachers all presented in a high quality ring bound publication.
How it works?
‘Tennis Skills to Music’ focuses on the generic development of skills promoting fluency of movement, co-ordination, increased agility, balance and control gained through practice and repetition before moving into modified games sessions and the development of tactics and strategies necessary to advance these skills.
Whilst the scheme is able to address the whole game of tennis, the aims and aspirations of the scheme are much broader providing teachers with a range of new ideas transferable to any sport and an emphasis on engaging whole classes in small spaces, maximising the activity of a lesson.
